The first thought I had when I read this was that somebody besides me and my Mom makes Mac and cheese with saltines instead of elbows(macaroni)... She layered the saltines with grated cheese then poured a beaten egg with salt and pepper and mixed with 2 cups of milk.let it sit for a few minutes then bake at 350 degrees F for about 35-40 until golden and puffed.....I really think she didn't have and noodles....
