Recipe: Maid-Rite Mixture for Sandwiches (2)

Sandwiches
Hi Robert,

Here are two recipes for Main-Rites.

MAID-RITE MIXTURE FOR SANDWICHES

1 lb. hamburger or 1 tube
ground turkey
1 can chicken gumbo soup
1/2 c. ketchup
garlic, celery and onion salt
to taste
no table salt

Brown meat; pour off any fat or juice. Season with
garlic, celery and onion salt (very little at a time). Taste
frequently. Add soup and ketchup, simmer until thickened. Use
buns; place a spoonful of meat on bottom and top of bun. Place
a slice of cheese on top. Place in broiler or slow oven to
melt cheese. The mixture can be frozen for future use. Serves
6.

MAID-RITE SANDWICHES

2 lb. ground beef
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. mustard

Put in double boiler and steam, the longer the better.
Serve with diced onion and pickles on bun.
