Recipe: Nopales Con Carne (Cactus and Green Chile)

Appetizers and Snacks
Hi Jazzmin - Just spotted your request a few minutes ago; will do more searching; but, I have found the basic recipe, however, it is made with Green Chile. Perhaps you can exchange green and use red. Meanwhile, I'll keep looking.

NOPALES CON CHILE VERDE
(CACTUS AND GREEN CHILE)

2 teaspoons vegetable oil
4 ounces cooked, diced green chili
1 tablespoon fresh tomato, chopped
salt to taste
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 cup diced, cooked nopales

Heat oil and saute green chile and onion. Add chopped tomato and season. Cover to simmer a few minutes, then blend in nopales. Cook for a few minutes. Serve.

Serves 4
