OLD FASHIONED MACARONI AND CHEESE
8 oz elbow macaroni, uncooked
4 cups (16 oz) shredded cheddar cheese, divided use
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Paprika
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.
Layer one third of macaroni in a lightly greased 2-quart baking dish; sprinkle with 1 1/2 cups cheese. Repeat layers once; top with remaining macaroni. Reserve remaining 1 cup cheese. Set aside.
Whisk together eggs, milk, salt and pepper until blended; pour over macaroni.
Bake covered, at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Uncover and sprinkle with remaining 1 cup cheese and paprika. Cover and let stand 10 minutes before serving.
