Pasties
Piece of top round steak
2 medium potatoes (raw)
1 medium onion
small piece of suet
salt, pepper
1 pie crust recipe
Cut raw round steak and potatoes into 1/2" cubes, place in mixing bowl. Add suet, chopped onions and seasonings to suit your taste; toss to mix.
Roll pie crust to 6" circles and put some of the meat mixture on on half of the circle. Fold other half over, seal edges and cut slit in top. Bake in 350 F oven 1 hour or until potatoes are done. Good hot or cold.
This is my Gram's recipe as she has written it, and it's "by guess and by gosh" as she says, lol. The round steak is a large piece (I'd go with your recipe to estimate the amount) and the suet is approximately 1/4 cup size, and is cut or broken up and mixed evenly throughout the remaining ingredients. A good butcher will be able to provide you with a good quality beef suet.
