Recipe(tried): Perky Bird Sandwich
Sandwiches Our area of California has lots of poultry farms, & this grilled sandwich is a local favorite.
PERKY BIRD SANDWICH
2 slices sliced sourdough bread
softened butter
3 slices American cheese
3 slices cooked bacon
2-3 thin slices ripe tomato, drained on pape towel
3 thin slices of Deli turkey or chicken
Lightly butter one side of 1 slice of bread & place buttered-side down on a griddle. Top with 1 1/2 slices cheese, the bacon, tomato & turkey. Top with remaining cheese & second slice of bread, buttered-side up. Cook over medium heat until nicely golden brown. Slice into halves & serve with fresh fruit in season.
