Recipe: Strawberry Liqueur (Karo, 1981)

Beverages
STRAWBERRY LIQUEUR

2 pints fully ripe strawberries, hulled, quartered
1 pint vodka
1 cup Karo light corn syrup
1/2 cup sugar

In large glass bowl stir together strawberries and vodka. Cover; refrigerate 5 days.

In strainer placed over bowl place berries one layer at a time; press gently with back of spoon to let juices flow freely. Strain liquid through 6 layers of cheesecloth.

Measure 3 cups. Add corn syrup and sugar. Stir until sugar is thoroughly dissolved.

Pour into glass container. Cover tightly. Let stand 3 days to develop flavor.

Makes about 1 quart
