Recipe(tried): Tom and Jerry Batter

The best ever!
12 eggs, separated*
1/2 tsp salt
3 lbs powdered sugar
1 lb butter, room temperature
1 tsp each vanilla and rum flavoring (also may use brandy flavoring)
1 tsp mace
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp allspice
Beat egg whites until stiff, add salt.
Beat egg yolks until light.
Cream powdered sugar with butter and mix until crumbly. Add egg yolks and flavorings; mix well. Add spices and egg whites; beating until well mixed.
This batter will keep for several weeks in refrigerator. May be frozen, covered for several months.
WHEN IT'S TIME TO SERVE:
Put 1 heaping tablespoon of batter into each hot mug: add one jigger of rum or brandy and fill with boiling hot water (always put the batter in first). Sprinkle with nutmeg.
