SUPER NUT ROLL
2 sticks of butter (1/4 lb each), at room temperature
4 egg yolks
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
3 1/2 cups flour
1 cake of yeast, or 2 pkgs yeast
1 cup sour cream (1/2 pint)
NUT MIXTURE:
3 cups ground nuts (your choice)
1 cup white or brown sugar (your choice)
Beat butter and egg yolks together until well blended. Add the salt and sugar. Add flour and mix until crumbly like corn meal.
Make a hole in the center of the mixture. Mix yeast and sour cream together and add to the flour mixture. Mix and knead until dough pulls away from the side of the bowl. Divide into 4 parts. Cover and leave for 8 hours in the refrigerator.
Roll refrigerated dough thin, like pie crust, into a rectangle.
Combine nuts and 1 cup sugar. Spread nut mixture over dough and roll up like a jelly roll. Place on a cookie sheet and let stand for 1-2 hours.
Bake at 350 degrees until lightly brown.
