Recipe(tried): Sweet and Sour Meatballs (using chili sauce and jelly)

For years, we thought that this was a Secret Recipe from my Great Grandmother. No one was allowed to have the recipe. She's since passed away and my family missed her meatballs very much. In the shopping isle one day, I picked up a Bottle of Heinz Chilli Sauce, and read the back.. THe secret recipe is the recipe Old Meme used.. my dad said, "how did they get Meme's recipe!".. it was the heinz one all along!

SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS

1 lb lean ground beef
1 cup soft bread crumbs
1 egg - slightly beaten
2 Tbsp fresh onion, minced
2 Tbsp milk
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2/3 cup Heinz Chilli Sauce (bottle)
2/3 cup Red currant jelly (grape jelly is good too)

Combine 1st - 8 ingredients. Form into 40 bite size meatballs (using about 1 tsp of the mixture for each).

Brown lightly in oiled frying pan. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Drain excess oil.

Combine Chili sauce and jelly. Pour over meatballs. heat stirring occasionally until jelly is dissolved. Simmer 10-12 minutes until sauce thickened.
