Thank You: I agree, fun topic.
Misc. I too, am an avid reader. This is the best site to find new recipes. And 11 years ago when I met my future husband I had no clue about how to put a meal together. Just your frozen or boxed meals, but he said being a chef was his dream. I thought "oh I've found my dream." The week he invited me over for dinner for the first time was one of those times the rent was due and the cupboards were bare. So I told him to make my all time favorite meal. Grilled Cheese and tomato soup, (not too hard on the budget).
Apparently he had never made a grilled cheese sandwich and asked the advice of a friend about how to put it together. He was told to butter both sides of the bread, inside and out, and put it in the oven for about 15 min. It was the most awful greasy sandwich I ever had in my life. And the soup, he reconstitued with water not milk. But I ate every bit of it and told him it was great.
The next meal he made for me was shrimp scampi and rice pilaf. And it was wonderful, I guess grilled cheese just wasn't in his repertoire. To this day I still make lunch for the kids, especially if they want grilled cheese.
