chopped tomato can. You can also use 1 1/2 cans of chopped tomatoes.

Red potatores are definitelo OK for the chowder. I usually use 6 cups of water or chicken broth for my soups, gumbos & chowders. You can add a little more water if it gets too dense while cooking.
