Re: I know it's spring 'cause:

Misc.
I've just read everyone's comments and it really makes me miss the midwest. Nothing is better than waking up on a spring morning with the doves cooing and the smell of lilacs wafting through the window. My grandma's favorite flower was the peony--which she pronounced "piney". I remember her coming to our house on Memorial Day with bunches of them wrapped in damp newspaper to take to the cemetary. They smelled so sweet and the flowers were large and a pretty pink.

Springs are quite different here in North Central Florida. We DO have a change of seasons up here, unlike the Clearwater area that we moved from. We know it's spring when the leaves fall off the trees. I've been raking for several days and now, looking out the window, those stupid leaves are coming down like snow! Spring here is when the azaleas bloom and things turn green again. Suddenly, there are fresh strawberries and tomatoes in the fruit stands. Oh--and asparagus--our favorite. Soon it will be time to get the pontoon boat ready for summer (which is in about 3 or 4 weeks).

I have another spring memory which I will make a separate comment--and THAT is the dreaded spring house cleaning!! :-(
