Re: I know it's spring 'cause:

Misc.
Hi Club, can I join for a bit?

I know it's spring 'cause when I awoke last Saturday, it was to the song of a robin in the tree outside my window. Then I heard Mr. Chiackadee calling to his lady - "SWEET-heart, SWEET-heart." I heard our "pet" Mockingbird, "Mockie," clear his throat and give us a warmp up of the operettas he plans to sing in May.

Then I heard the roguish group of grackles, who I haven't seen since Oct., '97, settle in the trees and start up squawking - a bunch of rusty clotheslines getting reeled in! When I couldn't believe I was hearing all of my friends back at once, I heard a mourning dove - "Who, who, who?" (as in who wants to be my bride?)

Later in the week, Mr. Cardinal joined the Lonely Hearts Club, calling out sharply and sweetly, declaring that this is HIS backyard and that Mrs. Cardinal should join him at the sunflower seed feeder. Aah, I love it!
