Re: Mrs. Whitham's trifle...

Hi Sarah,
Fun to read your experiences with trifle...I've never used a cake mix, but I imagine that a pound cake mix would be good...did you use that?
Also, I've never tried the "english custard" mix, and frankly, I don't know what brand Mrs. Whitham used, because that was in Southern California circa 1958...so who knows???
What I loved about this trifle---was the jello---The possibilities are endless, you could use any flavor really,, although I stick to the strawberry jello....(a "purist" , I guess...
Anyway, I hope you try this...and in the meantime, I'll look for that custard!!!
