Yes, it works fine.
Misc. I have heard that sometimes you need to run the frozen tomatoes under warm water to remove the peels. You can also peel,core, and chop, simmer a few minutes and freeze in containers for sauces.Or even make sauces and freeze with your seasonings already in them for spaghetti,etc.
