Recipe: Reasons for Bread Machine Beeping

Hello Jean,

Some bread machines will beep before the last kneading cycle ends to alert you that it's the best time to make additions (raisins, chips, nuts, etc.).

Or, when you use the dough cycle the machine will beep when it's done kneading and rising to alert you that the dough is ready to remove from the machine for shaping and oven baking. You can try selecting a loaf type before you start the machine (such as sweet, whole wheat, rapid, etc.) to see if that's the problem. You didn't say what model machine you have, but there may be a Select button on the top panel that will cycle you through the loaf types.
