Recipe: Asian Vegetable Rice with Sesame and Almonds

ASIAN VEGETABLE RICE
"Quick and tasty dish with an Asian flair."

2 cups water*
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon chicken base
1 teaspoon Durkee Minced Garlic
1/2 teaspoon Durkee Ground Ginger
1/4 teaspoon Durkee Ground White Pepper
Dash Durkee Ground Cayenne Pepper
1 cup long grain OR converted rice*
2 cups frozen stir-fry vegetables
2 tablespoons chopped, toasted almonds
1 tablespoon Durkee Sesame Seed

Combine 2 cups water, soy sauce, chicken base, garlic, ginger, white pepper, cayenne pepper and rice in a covered saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.

Add stir-fry vegetables and cook an additional 5 minutes or until water is absorbed and rice is tender.

Toss with almonds and sesame seeds.

*If using Basmati rice, reduce water by a third.

Makes 8 servings
