BANANA ORANGE SOFTIES
1 2/3 cups mashed ripe banana (about 3 large bananas)
3/4 cup margarine or butter, softened
1/2 cup orange juice
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp grated orange peel
2 cups Quaker Oats, uncooked (quick or old-fashioned)
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt (optional)
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
3/4 cup raisins
Orange Icing (recipe follows)
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine bananas, margarine and orange juice. Blend in eggs, vanilla and orange peel. Add combined dry ingredients and raisins; mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 20 to 22 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
Drizzle Orange Icing over cooled cookies. Store tightly covered.

5 tsp orange juice
1 tsp grated orange peel
Combine powdered sugar, orange juice and orange peel. Mix until smooth.
