1 cup soy sauce
1/4 tsp ground allspice
1/3 cup sugar
6 scallions, sliced thin
1 tbsp vegetable oil
16 chicken wings
1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground anise

Mix the soy sauce, anise, allspice, ginger and oil in a large bowl.
Mix in the sugar until dissolved.
Stir in the scallions.
Add the chicken wings to the marinade.
Toss to coat thoroughly.
Cover with plastic wrap.
Marinate, refrigerated, for 8 hours or longer.

Drain the chicken wings.
Reserve the marinade.
Place the wings in a (9x13-inch) baking dish.
