CREAMED MUSHROOMS ON RICE
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1 pound mushrooms
1 teaspoon salt, divided use
3 1/2 tablespoons flour
1 3/4 cups milk
Few grains pepper
Boiled rice (for serving)
Melt the butter in a frying pan. Add the onion, quartered mushrooms and 1/2 teaspoon of the salt. Fry until lightly browned, stirring constantly. Cover and cook over low heat until tender.
Add the flour and mix well. Add the milk gradually and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Add the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of salt and a few grains of pepper.
Serve on mounds of hot rice.
