Recipe: Date-Bran Bread (Oster blender manual, 1979)

Breads - Muffins, Quick Breads
DATE-BRAN BREAD

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups whole bran cereal
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup molasses
1 1/2 cups milk
1 egg
1 cup pitted dates
melted butter (for brushing on top)

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 81/2 x 4 1/2 x 2/8-inch loaf pan.

Place all dry ingredients in large mixing bowl; mix well. Set aside.

Place remaining ingredients except butter into Osterizer blender container. Cover and process 3 cycles at CHOP. Pour liquid mixture over dry ingredients. Mix until all ingredients are moistened. Pour into baking pan.

Bake 60 minutes. Remove from pan and brush top with melted butter. Cool on wire rack.

Makes 1 loaf
