DUMPLING STEAK (DENMARK)
2 pounds chopped beefsteak
3 large onions, finely chopped
5 fresh tomatoes, skinned and chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
paprika (to taste)
1 tablespoon butter
TO SERVE:
tomato quarters
fresh parsley
onion slices, separated into rings
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Mix the meat with the finely chopped onion and chopped tomatoes. Add the salt, pepper, and paprika. Shape the ground beef into a large round dumpling and set in a well-greased casserole. Dot the top of the dumpling with specks of butter.
Bake at 400 degrees F for 1 hour.
TO SERVE:
Decorate the finished dumpling with tomato quarters, parsley, and onion rings.
Makes 6-8 servings
