EGGNOG POUND CAKE
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1 (2-layer-size) package yellow cake mix (18 1/2 oz.)
1 1/2 cups eggnog
2 large eggs
1/4 cup melted butter
2 tablespoons rum or 1/4 teaspoon rum flavoring
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Generously grease a bundt pan with 3 tablespoons softened butter. Press almonds against sides and bottom of pan; set aside.
In a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Beat until smooth, about 4 minutes. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake at 350 degrees 45 to 50 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Invert onto rack and cool completely.
