Fred's Mother's Oven Barbecue Spareribs

Makes 4 servings
4 lb pork spareribs
1 Tbsp butter or margarine
1 garlic clove - minced
1/2 cup catsup
1/3 cup chili sauce
2 Tbsp brown sugar
2 Tbsp onion - chopped
1 Tbsp prepared mustard
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp celery seed
1/4 tsp salt
dash Louisiana hot sauce
3 lemon slices - thin
Cut ribs into serving size pieces. In large sauce pan, cover ribs with salted water and simmer until nearly tender, about 1 hour.
Meanwhile, in a saucepan, melt butter; add garlic and cook 4 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
Drain ribs and place in a shallow pan. Pour boiling sauce over the
ribs.
Bake in 350 F open for 20 minutes, basting often with sauce.
