HERSHEY'S COCOA FUDGE
I have made this recipe for my mom each Christmas for the last 40 years. God-willing, I will continue making it for my Mom for many more years to come. It came from the back of the original Hershey's Cocoa can.
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 cups sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine first 4 items in large saucepan. Mix throughly. bring to a bubbly boil on high heat, stirring continuously.
Reduce heat to medium and boil without stirring until it reaches a small, soft ball when dropped in cold water.
Remove from heat and add vanilla, and butter. (My mom likes a dab of peanut butter and black walnuts added to the mixture!) Do not stir. Allow fudge to cool for a few minutes.
Beat by hand. Pour into pan. Cool in refrigerator.
Enjoy!
