Recipe: Lemon Almond Waffles with Lemon Cream (Bisquick recipe)
Breakfast and BrunchLEMON ALMOND WAFFLES WITH LEMON CREAM
Lemon Cream (recipe follows)
2 cups Original Bisquick Baking Mix
1 1/3 cups milk
2 Tbsp. powdered sugar
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 tsp. grated lemon peel
1 egg
1/2 cup slivered almonds, chopped
Additional powdered sugar (optional, for garnish)
Toasted slivered almonds (optional, for garnish)
Make Lemon Cream; refrigerate while making waffles.
Heat Belgian or regular waffle iron; grease, if necessary.
Stir Bisquick, milk, 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, oil, lemon peel and egg in a large bowl until blended. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped almonds.
Pour batter by slightly less than 1 cupfuls onto center of hot waffle iron. Bake about 5 minutes or until steaming stops. Carefully remove waffle.
Sprinkle waffles with powdered sugar and toasted almonds. Serve with Lemon Cream.
LEMON CREAM
3/4 cup heavy (whipping) cream
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
3 Tbsp. powdered sugar
1 tsp. lemon peel, grated
Beat all ingredients together in a chilled, small bowl with electric mixer on high speed just until soft and fluffy.
