
"Use as a basting sauce during the last 10 minutes when grilling or broiling meat or chicken."
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon Heinz
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3/4 cup Heinz Tomato Ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional)
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1 tablespoon Heinz Worcestershire Sauce
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (optional)
Water (if needed)
In saucepan, saute onion and green pepper in oil until tender.
Stir in ketchup and remaining ingredients. Simmer 5 to 10 minutes, stiffing occasionally. Sauce may be thinned with a small amount of water if necessary.
Makes about 1 1/2 cups sauce
