Recipe: Peanut Butter Cereal Squares

PEANUT BUTTER CEREAL SQUARES

7 cup cereal (mixture: Cheerios, flakes, Krispies, etc.)
1 cup coconut
1 cup chocolate chips or M&M's
pecans (optional)
1 cup sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter

Place cereals, coconut, chocolate chips, nuts in large bowl and mix together.

Put sugar and corn syrup in saucepan and cook until sugar is dissolved.

Add peanut butter stirring constantly so peanut butter doesn't scorch.

Remove from heat and pour over cereal mixture.

Mix together well and pat into large buttered (or coated with non-stick cooking spray) jelly roll pan or two (9x13-inch) pans. Let cool and cut into squares.
