Recipe(tried): Polish Cabbage and Sausage

Main Dishes - Pork, Ham
Polish Cabbage and Sausage
Servings: 4-6

1 pound kielbasa -- cut into 1/2-inch thick slices
1 cup slivered onions
8 cups coarsely shredded green cabbage
1 teaspoon crushed caraway seed (optional)
1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill

Place the kielbasa in a large skillet and cook over medium heat until it renders some fat and begins to brown, about 5 minutes. Add the onions, cabbage, and caraway seeds and toss the mixture together. Sprinkle with the sugar, salt and pepper and cover the pan.

Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender, about 30 minutes. Spoon into a serving dish and sprinkle with the dill.
