Misc.Hi Cathy,
I'm adding my "good thoughts" for your Mom's speedy and complete recovery. My Mom had stage 3 cancer of the lung last year, and thanks to her wonderful doctors at Emory University in Atlanta, and all the people who prayed for her, she has made a 100% recovery, and is 74 yrs of age.. As we speak she is in Hawaii with her 37 yr old granddaughter and her family, when she comes home (she lives with me and hubby), she's planning to take several trips with the Senior Citizens...The power of prayer and positive thinking (and extremely remarkable medical procedures) has given our whole family the joy of having Mom, not only alive, but back to her old self.
Since I live across the country from my oldest daughter, I leave hubby to fend for himself on occassion. I usually spend one whole day shopping for just his "stash", and one day preparing things like the other gals do. One thing hubby really loves is a burger, so I buy a big package of ground chuck and heap a big spoon into a baggie and press down on it, to form the pattie. I usually make up a whole package like this, cause it's great when I'm home too for quickie meals..Since he loves hot dogs too, I freeze them in baggies (3 to a bag), and buy canned chili for chili dogs..I also make up pizzas (homemade), partially bake them in the toaster oven, cool them on a rack, then freeze, so he can just finish baking them in the toaster oven...I also cook a whole pork butt on top the stove, and after about 5 hours..it's ready to shred, and add the bbq sauce, then I put them in individual freezer containers...just a few ideas..I hope will help..Luckily, my hubby appreciates "anything" I make him.
