Recipe(tried): RESPONSE: "The "Molly" challenge..read more

Misc.

Well you know - - I just couldn't pass up replying to your challenge..just off the top of my head..I'll give you a few tips that have proven most useful to me over the years.
l. shop at the "close-out" stores ie: Here in Georgia it's "big lots", in California it was "Pic'n'Save"..anyway, you guys get the idea...All during the year when I'm in one of these stores, I look for unusual tins, plates, bowls, etc. etc. to use as my Christmas cookie/candy give-away items. They are usually marked $1-2 and by Christmas I'm not spending a heap of money on disposable items or wrapping ideas..and the bonus is they get to keep the platter or bowl or whatever.
I also shop these stores for aluminum disposable items, and always have a variety on hand. Last Christmas they had every imaginable kinds for 15 cents each, and I really stocked up...some even had lids like you get from the deli...these are great to take to family potlucks, or just to give your grown kids their "care packages" after one of "Mom's" meals.
Of course, I havent' even mentioned yard saling, and flea marketing bargains -
oh..and one more. I have one jillion toys in the playroom (8 grandkids) all bought at yard sales and flea markets...that's it for now....
