I made this recipe years ago and made variations of my own. I substituted part of the flour with corn meal, added sour cream and basil to make bread for chili. I've used honey for the sugar and added dried cranberries and slivered almonds or walnuts to make a dessert bread. You can also add peeled, grated carrot and substitute part of the liquid with applesauce and part of the all purpose flour with wheat flour.
