ISO: Wedding reception help request - menu ideas, inexpensive and make ahead
Misc.Hi there! I am getting married on August 26th 2006!
We have a rather large family so it will be a rather large wedding on a rather small budget. We are having our wedding and reception at a warplane museum. They have a huge auditorium for a wedding and the reception is actually held in the actual airplane hangar which is really amazing since there's 30,000 square feet to work with. The good news is with a large family I have a lot of help and a large kitchen to work with at the warplane museum.
However I'm lacking menu idea options. I'm trying to keep it on a more inexpensive and simple note. There's an hour between the wedding and reception and I'd rather not have everyone running rampid. I'm looking for ideas on some inexpensive but different dishes to serve that won't be too much of a pain for the family. (impossibilities... I know!) The plan is to make things ahead of time and then reheat before the wedding; or better yet just have things to pull out of the refrigerator. The reception will probably have between 150 and 200 guests. Please help if you have any ideas or advice on what I could serve.
Thanks so much!
