Recipe: Whole Wheat Muffins

Whole Wheat Muffins
rec.food.recipes/Tonkcats (2000)
Makes 1 1/2 dozen muffins

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup milk
2 beaten eggs
1/3 cup shortening

Combine flour, salt and baking powder. Mix whole wheat flour and brown sugar. Add nuts. Stir flour mixtures together. Combine milk, eggs and shortening and add to dry ingredients. Stir just until moistened. Bake in greased muffin pans for 15 minutes at 425 degrees.
