ISO: Rinderwurst (tried)
Misc.I grew up in Elgin and Grandfather Edwin Heath was a butcher there in a small shop on the west side of Elgin in the 60's and 70's. He used to make us Rinderwust when I was little and I so missed it when he took the recipe with him in passing. I started seeking out replacement and found it to be sold at John's Meat Market in Downtown Elgin (now of South Elgin) It was a good likeness to my Grandfathers but I do believe after making this recipe the allspice amount is KEY! More that is! I know live in Missouri and can not find Rinderwurst to save my life so I am current cooking the beef to grind tomorrow with this recipe! Keeping my fingers crossed!
