Wow! Thank you so much for your reply! I would be so grateful to hear whatever you can tell me about your grandmother's (or others') recipes.

Did they really add egg and vinegar and radishes to their rinderwurst? That's a new one for me.

I do remember that my grandmother kept a large crock of rinderwurst down in her cellar. It did not spoil down there. I wonder how that worked!

I'd love to hear about your family from Tripoli. Maybe we are related in some way. I know this isn't the right venue for that discussion, but if you're interested, my email is (see note).
