Thank You: Rinderwurst (German Sausage) recipe --finally, the real thing!
Misc. Thanks for posting regarding your Rinderwurst. My husband and I traveled to Walt's in Beecher yesterday to pick up oatmeal sausage. We were both disappointed when I made some this morning. It seems they forgot the seasoning in this batch. There was no taste.
I would like to know how your side by side comparison came out with the recipe you mention and Walt's.
Interesting too that you mention he shared his recipe. I asked him when I was there once and he said he would have to kill me if he told me. ha! The only thing that he told me was that you had to use steel cut oats. My nephew now works in the produce section there. I told him to ask for the recipe and they would not share.
so how did your side by side comparison turn out? Is all spice the secret seasoning or summer savory?
I am going to make some more tomorrow morning and sprinkle on some all spice and maybe some thyme.
Thanks again. I hope to hear back from you.
