Cornish pasties are originally from Cornwall, England...
Misc.further investigation reveals them to be the original "take-out" food, as they were designed to be eaten on the move.
There are different recipes for the crust (short-cut pastry, or rough), and differing methods and ingredients with regard to the filling, but all agree: the distinctive feature of the filling that makes it a cornish pasty, is the filling igredients are not cooked until the pasty is cooked.
Hmmmm, I'm getting hungry, gotta go!
Cheers!
