DATE COOKIES
3 eggs
4 cups sifted flour
1 tsp cream tartar
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup lard and butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup seeded dates, chopped
1 cup chopped nuts
Mix flour, cream tartar, and baking soda.
Combine remaining ingredients, mix. Form into rolls and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight.
In the morning, preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
Slice cookies and place on prepared baking sheet.
Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and lightly crisp around edges.
