Delmonico Deviled Chicken

3 pounds chicken drumsticks, thighs, and/or breasts
Salt and freshly ground pepper
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon paprika
3/4 cup fresh bread crumbs
Season chicken liberally with salt and pepper. Broil 6 to 8 inches from heat for 5 to 7 minutes a side, until skin is browned. Remove from broiler and reduce oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, blend butter, mustard, vinegar, paprika, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Place chicken, skin side up, in a large baking dish. Brush with seasoned butter. Sprinkle bread crumbs over chicken. Bake 15 to 20 minutes, until coating is browned and crisp and chicken is tender.
