Gelatin Ice Cream Dessert
Makes 3 cups or 6 servings
1 package (4 serving size) Jell-O Brand Gelatin, any flavor
1 cup boiling water
2 cups (1 pint) ice cream, any flavor
Completely dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add ice cream by spoonfuls, stirring until ice cream is melted. Pour into individual dessert glasses or serving bowl. Chill until set, about 30 minutes. Garnish with fresh fruit, if desired.

Basic Bavarian
Makes about 3-1/2 cups or 6 servings
1 package (4 serving size) Jell-O Brand Gelatin, any flavor
1 cup boiling water
1 cup cold water
2 cups thawed Cool Whip Non-Dairy Whipped Topping
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add cold water. Chill until slightly thickened. Fold in 1-1/2 cups of the whipped topping. Spoon into dessert glassed or 4-cup mold. Chill until firm, about 4 hours.
(Unmold, if necessary.) Garnish with remaining whipped topping and fresh or canned fruit, if desired.
Fruit Juice Bavarian: Prepare Basic Bavarian as directed, substituting 1 cup fruit juice for the cold water.
Fruited Bavarian: Prepare Basic Bavarian as directed, adding 1 cup sliced fresh fruit (expect pineapple, kiwifruit, mango, papaya or figs).
Bavarian Pie: Prepare Basic Bavarian, Fruit Juice Bavarian or Fruited Bavarian as directed; spoon into cooled, baked 9-inch pie shell or graham cracker crumb crust.
