Recipe: Hot Fudgy Milk Chocolate Sauce or Chocolate Fondue

HOT FUDGY MILK CHOCOLATE SAUCE

"The arrowroot gives the sauce enough body that it stands up to heating."

1 1/2 cups skim milk
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon arrowroot powder
1 pinch salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a medium saucepan over medium low heat, mix all ingredients, stirring constantly until the sauce starts to thicken, about 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

Store in the refrigerator. Shake or stir well before using.

VARIATIONS:

DARKER CHOCOLATE SAUCE:
Substitute an equal amount of water for the skim milk for a fudge sauce that's closer to dark chocolate.

FOR CHOCOLATE FONDUE:
Heat up Hot Fudgy Milk Chocolate Sauce and dip banana, apple and kiwi slices in it, along with strawberries, marshmallows and cake cubes.
