MILKY WAY PUDDING
2 1/2 cups milk, divided use
1/2 cup heavy (whipping) cream
4 Milky Way bars (2.05 oz each), cut into 1/2-inch dice
2 large eggs
2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Whipped cream, 1 Milky Way bar, diced (for garnish)
In saucepan, bring 2 cups milk, the cream and bars to just under a boil, stirring, until candy has melted.
In medium bowl, whisk remaining 1/2 cup milk, the eggs and cornstarch. Whisk in a little hot-milk mixture. Whisk in remaining hot-milk mixture; pour back into saucepan. Bring to a boil, whisking; boil, whisking, 1 minute, until thickened. Remove from heat.
Whisk in butter and vanilla. Strain through fine-mesh sieve into bowl.
Spoon into 6 dessert bowls; refrigerate, uncovered, until chilled and darker skin forms on top. Garnish and serve.
Servings: 6
