OMIE'S PRALINES
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup plus 1 tbsp sour cream
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups pecans
Combine the sugars and sour cream. Cook over a medium heat, stirring constantly until sugars are dissolved. Continue cooking over medium heat until candy thermometer is halfway between the thread and soft ball stages.
Remove from heat and add vanilla and pecans. Stir until a light sugar coating begins to form on pecans.
Drop by teaspoons or tablespoons onto waxed paper. Let cool.
