Sugar Cookies
newsgroup posting/Bill Randle
Sugar cookies are generally a favorite around Christmas time. This is my favorite recipe.
4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
Sift together dry ingredients; cut in butter; stir in eggs and vanilla. Mix with hands and form into a large ball. Wrap and refrigerate 12 hours. Break off a chunk and roll *very* thin (~ 0.1-inch). Cut with cookie cutter and sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake at 350 about 5 minutes. The secret is to not make them too thick and to bake until just before the edges turn brown. This makes them nice and crispy.
