This recipe was always gobbled up by my kids AND husband over the years. Now it's just the two of us, and we still love it. My daughter makes it for her kids and THEY love it too!
TATER TOT PIE
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
1 can cut green beans, drained
1 lb. frozen potato nuggets (tater tots)
Brown and crumble the ground beef in a skillet. Drain if necessary.
Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and pepper. Fold in the drained green beans. Heat until mixture begins to bubble. Transfer to a 9x9 square baking dish (spray dish with non-stick cooking spray, if you like). Arrange tater tots in rows (or any pattern you like) on top of meat mixture, covering top completely like a "crust".
Bake uncovered in a preheated 350 F oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until tater tots are brown and sauce bubbles up between them. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minute before serving.
Makes 4 servings. You can easily double this recipe; just bake it in a 9x13 dish.
If you do try this, won't you please let me know how you like it?
