Recipe: Vanilla Wafer Cake (tube cake using crushed vanilla wafers, coconut and pecans)

VANILLA WAFER CAKE
2 sticks (1 cup) butter or margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
6 eggs
1 (12 oz.) pkg. vanilla wafers, crushed
1/2 cup milk
1 (7 oz.) pkg. flaked coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
Cool Whip (optional, for serving)
Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time and beat after each.
Add vanilla wafers alternately with the milk. Add coconut and chopped pecans. Place in a greased and floured tube pan.
Bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
When cool, serve with Cool Whip
Makes 1 tube cake, 18 servings
