ISO: christmas anise cutouts

Misc.
Help! I have been searching for an anise christmas cookie cutout recipe. My mom use to make these every christmas-not one of us (5) girls ever asked for the recipe and now we can't find it or imitate it at the very least. mom is losing the battle with Alzheimers. My sisters and I came up with this info-
anise xmas cutout
very basic ingredients-flour-anise extract-baking powder-baking soda-softened butter-sugar-vanilla extract-egg-possibly nutmeg-they are a thick cut cookie-on the drier side-sort of a tan/beige color when baked-and she used to use a confectionary sugar frosting w/food coloring. this recipe was on a pink holiday insert in a magazine either good housekeeping/womans day/or family circle from the early 1960's. I would be forever grateful to the person who may know of or have a mom that had this recipe. I cry everytime christmas comes and no moms cookies. thank you in advance.
