Have to roll with the punches, I guess!

Misc.
As I mentioned above, we were expecting to be 14 for a big family Polish feast today - yesterday (after I had done about 80% of all the prep work, and some of the cooking/baking)we got a phone call telling us that two of the little ones were in the hospital - First the toddler went in with severe dehydration from protracted vomiting, and while she was in with her Mom from 2am on at one of the big hospitals here, the next oldest one age 4, whom Daddy and Grandma were talking care of, ended up with the same exact thing only worse. Having been in touch with Mom all night at the hospital, finding out how backed up THAT place was, Daddy took this one to another hospital, where the second child was also admitted in serious condition.

So now there's two kids from the same family, both in two different hospitals! Needless to say, all the other people who WERE going to be coming here, are also scrambling around with their schedules to help with the other kids in the family.

Thank God for families in times like this.

And thank God for hospitals that can save these little ones that can go bad so fast from dehydration. They are on IVs and medications, and are doing better today, but still not being allowed to go home - will probably be in another day.

SO, ANYONE WANT TO COME TO MY HOUSE FOR POLISH FOOD???

I'm actually cooking everything up anyway, and going to distribute it later on today at the various houses, so that people who are coming and going won't have to think about cooking. Mom & Dad are so exhausted from 48 hours without sleep and worry.

Gotta roll with the punches, and be grateful that the little ones will be OK.

Love, June
